Here we are on the finish line. On the 10th of December, in a couple of days, the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony will take place. Just recently did bookmakers and experts wonder who is the one to take Obama’s chair in Oslo town-hall – who will get the next Nobel Peace Prize.
Nevertheless no one got it right. This year the number of the contenders reached the peak of 259, which influenced of course the prediction accuracy. And the Nobel Peace Prize 2013 goes to … For sure there will be arguments as of accuracy of the Noble committee decision. However, only history will show how accurate this decision was. While preparing this material, I tumbled upon a very interesting fact. It’s true that everybody talks about Obama and Nobel Prize and people are still bewildered what he got it for. But, did you know, that in 1935 the peace dove contender was Benito Mussolini? And in 1939, just before the Second World War, the one to get it was Adolf Hitler? Besides in the Noble price register another well-known character was listed twice – in 1945 and 1948. His name is Iossif Vissarionovych Stalin. Curtains fall.
