Linda and I had a wonderful time with you on our Oslo Photo Tour. I have left a review on Trip Advisor and hope that it will get you even more business. Thank you so much for showing us places that we would never be able to find and I now want to come back to your wonderful city and photograph the many photo opportunities that are there. I was able to get some great images. If you ever get the opportunity to come to Texas, I would love to show you some of my favorite photo places and a chance to photograph the real working cowboy. Thanks again for the enjoyable time with you. Randy and Linda Texas
Reliving our ancestors lives from 1870s and 1880s
Rami is great, and we haven’t even toured yet! After reading many, many reviews on Trip Advisor for private tour guides in Oslo, we decided to hire Rami of Oslo Photo Tour to take us on a special tour of our ancestors’ homes and churches in Oslo during the 1870s and 1880s. We have done significant genealogical work through church books and Norway Digitalarkivit. We provided Rami the addresses of four homes and the details on two churches where a marriage and baptisms took place. We provided emigration data and ship names. We have asked him to take us, in order, through their lives in Oslo, ending at the docks where they boarded ships. We no sooner provided him the data, than he emailed us a link to a photo of the home where our ancestors lived in 1875. The photo was from the Oslo Digital Museum, which we didn’t even know existed. One can download photos for free, and make a donation. What a find! We also requested that he take us to bookstores which might have particular books that we wished to purchase, including some Boka om Land volumes. He immediately tried to find where the books would be available, and told us they were so old that they were not available in bookstores. He, however, found several of the volumes online and provided us links. We haven’t even met Rami as our tour is in six weeks. Yet, we feel like we already know him, and he is a very particular person, and really wanting to meet his clients’ needs. We think you can’t go wrong in hiring him for a standard tour, or something special. By the way, he speaks English, Norwegian, Hebrew and Russian. Something for everyone!
Great preparation made time well-spent!
Our party of five spent the day with Rami on 18 May 2018. We had made preparations with him for our specialized tour. He arrived at our hotel before the scheduled time. He brought a vehicle that was comfortable for everyone in our group. He was well-prepared, having done research in advance to make the most of our time. Rami had good knowledge of the area and Norway in general so he could answer our questions. He allocated sufficient time for our tour and we did not feel rushed. The tour involved driving and walking. At certain points on the walking portion, he advised us to proceed while he went back to the vehicle and brought the vehicle to us. That made it very convenient for us. Rami brought photographic and historical information to help us understand the history of Oslo and Norway. He had a pleasant personality and was enjoyable to be with. He was eager to please us and gave us valuable suggestions for future days of sightseeing and restaurants. Best of all, he had fantastic camera equipment (and expertise) and took photos of everything we wanted. He delivered the photos via an email drop box 36 hours after the tour ended. Our only regret is that we hadn’t hired him for more days!
Are you interested in unique Oslo experience interweaving history, culture, place and stories and Jewish Oslo? This is the tour for you. I met Rami at my hotel and we began with the Oslo Cathedral, Norwegian history and the Jewish experience. We walked and chatted and all the time I learned about how Jews were invited to Norway and how they experienced successes and challenges culminating in the forced deportation to the ‘camps’. We saw the Akershus fortress where Jews were forced the gather prior to deportation, walked more and visited monuments and plaques and I gained a sense, thanks to Rami of the compliance and resistance of Norway and then impacts on the Jewish community. We visited the Radhus or town hall and took pictures where the Nobel Prize is awarded. Jewish Norway was woven throughout. We made it in time for services, the Dvar Torah, a Bat Mitzvah (what an unexpected treat) and Kiddush and then met the Chabad Rabbi. The tour ended with a visit to Vigeland Park and sculptures. Not to be missed. It was an excellent day and I highly recommend the tour. Dr. Beverley Freedman Educational Services Consulting

Thank you for a most enjoyable tour of Oslo. We really enjoyed meeting you and loved the pictures you took of us. Please don’t hesitate to call if and when you visit New York. If you need any recommendations we will be happy to comply. Thank you again. Rhonda and Alan
I really enjoyed my time with you and learning about the not-well-visited areas of Oslo. It was exactly what I was looking for and thank you so much for putting it together for me. I will definitely recommend you to anyone I know who wants to see the ‘other’ Oslo. Best of wishes Bev from Australia
Your walking tour was a highlight of our trip, something we’ll be sure to note on Cruise Critic when we return.Yours, Ann and Bob
We are safely back in Toronto and recovering from our jet-lag.
Our hearts and minds are filled with memories of beautiful Norwegian fjords seen during our cruise. This result was fully expected – after all that’s why we went to Norway.
What was unexpected was the wonderful Shabbat and Sunday we spent in Oslo. We had been warned by friends that Oslo was expensive (true) and that it was a cold uninviting city with nothing to see (not true). Rami you showed us what a beautiful city Oslo is. Before we ever met you, you asked questions about us, about what interested us and what we would like to see. You listened to our information, did research and planned a wonderful customized tour just for us. You came to see us in the hotel before Shabbat and gave us an Oslo orientation with suggestions where to walk on Shabbat.
On Sunday you chauffeured us to the synagogue, and took us on a wonderful walking tour showing us a mixture of pure new Norwegian architecture (the Opera House) as well as historic Oslo with a tour of the fortress. You incorporated our Jewish interest with information and stops related to the Holocaust. And when you had already exceeded the planned tour, you took us on a personal driving tour to places that we would never have been able to get to in our short visit, and showed us things beyond walking distance that would have taken us several days to accomplish on our own time.
Rami, we had a wonderful time and tour with you in Oslo – you made our visit in Oslo special going far above what was expected.
Thank-you!!! Ken from Canada
Thanks to you as our guide and professional phototour “tutor” in Oslo we got in sinc with the beautiful city very fast. You showed us many hidden corners and the walk-around you prepared in detail was one of the very best we ever had. The whole city and 1000 years of history in only five hours! We spent the remaining four days exploring the more well-known spots and we could always refer to what we saw with you on the first day.
Many thanks and all the best Uschy & Peter from Switzerland
